The company started their operation in Europe After establishing their head office in Brussels, Belgium in 1972. In its relevant area it has 7 production plants. UK has no production plants but the has a bay by which they tested the rejected tires by the customers. They usually provide tires along with Bridgestone rebates so that it can't pass inspection.
Since its inception, the company has diversified into other product lines. Polyurethane foam, construction materials and parts of electronic equipment, bicycles and sporting goods can be produced by Bridgestone. One-fourth of the group's total sales comes from these products.
Bridgestone combined with a leading tire re-treader company Bandag. Inc in 2006. As the president explained,
'Higher fuel prices are prompting customers to cut costs. It takes time and costs to develop this size business. We were able to get that all at once.'
Bridgestone Bandag, LLC is the new name of the company. Later it know as Bridgestone Commercial Services Group.
Bridgestone is also a manufacture of aircraft tires. Bridgestone Aircraft Tire is able too prepare for a changing market with a product mix that makes tires for the new Boeing 787 and the Airbus A380.
At present in all the major parts of the world the company has manufacturing tires. This includes the United States, Mexico, Belgium, China, Hungry, and Spain. Now-a-days it is recognized as a premier tire manufacturing company all around the world.
