You Will Love The Thrills Of Scale Aviation

By Sherry Gross

Having a very stressful job one needs some downtime to enjoy the little pleasures that life can offer. Scale aviation is one that will keep your mind active but at the same time let you get some well deserved relaxation. Whether you buy one already fully assembled or building it yourself it is a hobby many are enjoying.

For those enthusiasms that love anything to do with war, the T-6 is a must. It is a single engine aircraft that was used for training purposes in the United States Army Air Forces as well as the United States Navy. It is also known as the AT-6 or SNJ. It is still one of the most popular war planes and is often used for air demonstrations and static displays.

Many tried to analyze the atmosphere in the 17th century and this led to the discovery of hydrogen which then helped with the invention of the hydrogen balloon. The theory of mechanics and fluid dynamics led to the finding of modern aerodynamics. During the American Civil war these were used as observation posts during the Battle of Petersburg.

The model scale has an impressive 110 inch wingspan and has a gas engine of 30 cc. It is made up of balsa and plywood and all parts are made to specific measurements to ensure an accurate and balanced flight. In its final form it is very similar to the original in looks and in flight performance.

Kites were invented in the 5th century in China and were the first man made aircrafts. As the years went by the designs where copied following flying birds and insects as well as any mythical creature. Many were fitted with whistles so sounds were produced while flying. These were designed to send messages and signals, test the wind directions and measure distances as well as to lift men into the air.

The engine and cockpit is armored and is able to fly for 5 hour sorties with a 30 minute fuel reserve. Its ferry range is 1600 km, which means the maximum fuel load without any passengers or cargo on board. It is able to receive and transmit video images whether they are still or not.

It is capable of storing and carrying four weapons including 500lb bombs, rail-launched missiles, illumination flares and 2.75 inch rockets. It is more than capable of aerial gunnery with an integrated or pylon mounted gun. Its landing and takeoff distance is 1800m and the operational climb speed is 9000m.

Its capabilities in the air included the split S, this is when the pilot half rolls and does a descending half-loop. This was taught to be used in dogfighting and gave the pilot the opportunity to withdraw from combat. The machines are also able to do a few simple maneuvers depending on the experience of the controller.
