Truck Wraps: Could QR Codes Be Integrated?

By Paula Hess

Smartphones have, more or less, become a preferred method of communication these days. In fact, smartphones are used for just about everything these days, not only in relation to communication but web browsing, gaming, and the like. With the advent of these devices, there have been many features associated with them, QR codes being one of many examples to consider. It's possible that these could be integrated into truck wraps, for greater marketing efforts, and there are a few reasons for this.

To say that QR codes are common would be nothing short of an understatement. QR - or Quick Response - codes were originally designed in order to help the entire automotive business in Japan. Of course, it's easy to see that they have expanded over the course of time, allowing other industries to take advantage of them for the purpose of greater marketing efforts. Keep in mind that each of these codes are unique, despite the fact that, on the surface, they appear largely alike.

QR codes are especially useful when given the fact that most people are not very patient. They want to be able to arrive at where they must be at a given time, which is practically impossible when they are tasked with sifting through various sites on Google's search engine. QR codes, on the other hand, can bring users to the sites they require almost instantly. This is especially helpful for smaller companies which, admittedly, have not been able to make their mark on the Internet yet.

Of course, you have to keep in mind that these have to possess certain levels of quality if they are to be integrated into truck wraps. For example, smartphones have to pick up on the clearest images possible, which is where the printing capabilities of companies like JMR Graphics can come into effect. It's also worth noting that they must not possess broken links. If these codes lead to pages which do not exist, you can be certain that the codes in question will be utterly useless.

As you can see, QR codes have their advantages and very few will be able to overlook them. However, it's important to keep in mind that these must be integrated with the utmost effectiveness intact. As stated earlier, this can come in various forms, whether it's a matter of proper link direction or what have you. If these are taken into account, though, there is no doubt that QR codes will be able to hold their own and, potentially, become part of truck wraps in the future.
