Have Fun This Winter Inside A Custom Ice Fishing House

By Sally Delacruz

Winter is not the favorite season of most people. Being warm bloodied animals, most individuals would rather stay shrouded inside their homes and drink a steaming mug of coffee or a calming cup of tea. They see winter like most animals do, a time for hibernation.

Due to this, most people are missing out on the best winter activities. There are loads of recreational pastimes one must try when he or she has overcome the cold and the chills. For starters, one can get a dose of exhilaration when you come skating down icy slopes. If you want to see the beauty of nature first hand, you can strap on your snowshoes an go for a walk in winter wonderland. Those who love food and fun in one setting, then fishing in a custom ice fishing house is definitely one to try.

Ice fishing is basically just the act of catching fish, as you usually do with a line and a hook. The only thing is, it is done in cold weather when the lakes and other bodies of water are frozen solid. This activity is as basic as digging a hole in the ice, placing a bait, and waiting for a catch.

Fishing is also an inexpensive way to spend your winter break. You do not have to purchase special clothing unlike any other sports. All you have to do is to layer up in a way that you will not feel cold. You are also not required to spend so much on special equipment. In fact, you can use any rod for this pastime.

This winter recreation is also cheaper than other types. The equipments needed are much simpler, too. Aside from having fun out in the cold, you will be able to cook something tasty for dinner after the said activity.

It is enjoyable even when you are doing it alone. Just think of it as a little quiet and alone time for yourself. This hobby is also good in relieving stress. If you just want to chill out and reflect, then you might want to go alone.

The secret in this recreational interest is to become comfortable. It is hard to have fun when your teeth are chattering and your hands are shaking from the cold. Wear clothes in layers from a wool sweater, topped with a jacket or coat, then finished off with a vest or windbreaker. Wear insulated pants and pac boots to trap in body heat.

Do not forget to take out all the necessary equipment. You do not have to bring anything that is too complex, really. All you will ever need is an auger or a chisel to make the hole, bait, and rods. Do not forget to bring that thermos full of coffee or hot chocolate, either.

Most people now use fishing houses. They are made to protect fishers from the harsh elements outside. These are built just like a house, only they have holes oh the floor where the line goes into. With use of these movable shelters, you can have a warmer experience. They are for sale at most sports shops and some can even be rented out if you do not have enough to purchase one.
